In 2010 Russia will increase platinum output about 7%, to 31.7 tons (1.02 mio oz) as compared with 2009, the platinum manufacturers report. Thus, Russia will almost recover platinum production to the level of 2008 (31.9 tons).
In particular, Koryakgeoldobycha in 2010 is planning to extract more than 700 kg of platinum, Amur – 3.5 tons, Norilsk Nickel – about 21.5 tons of platinum. According to the experts platinum output from scraps and wastes in Russia will amount about 6 tons, which meets the results of several recent years.
According to the Ministry of Finance of the RF, in 2009 Russia decreased platinum extraction and output by 7%, to 29654.7 as compared with 2008.
In total extraction volume, the extraction form mines in 2009 decreased 17%, to 4742.1 kg and the output from scraps and wastes – 11.7%, to 5429.5 kg. |
